JD.com is set to revolutionize its logistics operations by empowering itself with a vast network of artificial intelligence and robotics. The company has announced the launch of a new Physical AI Acceleration Plan, which aims to integrate AI and robotic technology across its entire logistics network. This move promises to significantly improve efficiency and accuracy in delivering packages to customers.
As part of this initiative, JD.com plans to procure 3 million robots over the next five years. These robots will be used for tasks such as warehousing, sorting, and packaging, helping to reduce labor costs and increase productivity. Additionally, the company has announced its target to acquire 1 million autonomous vehicles by the end of 2025, which will enable it to further optimize its logistics network.
The company has also unveiled a range of industrial robots, dubbed the Wolf Robot series, designed specifically for warehouse and manufacturing applications. These robots are expected to play a crucial role in JD.com's expansion into new areas such as e-commerce and supply chain management. The announcement comes ahead of JDDiscovery 2026, where JD Logistics officially launched its Physical AI Acceleration Plan.
